Privacy Policy
Effective 2 October 2026
Trudge is built to work without an account and without a server of our own. This policy explains the little data the app handles and where it goes.
Data that stays on your device
- Your Trudge — Trudges, Rules, Footprints, Storms and Sheltered Storms, your Pledge (including any name and Witness name you type) and settings are stored in the app’s private storage on your iPhone. They are shared only with Trudge’s own widgets, through an App Group container on your device.
- Progress photos (Pro) — photos you choose with the system photo picker are copied into the app’s private storage. Trudge does not get access to the rest of your library and never uploads photos to us.
- Reminders — daily reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device.
We have no copy of this data. Deleting the app deletes it. If you use iCloud or device backups, Apple may include the app’s data in your backup under Apple’s own privacy terms.
iCloud backup — Trudge backs up your data to your own private iCloud account (iCloud key-value storage), protected by Apple, so you can restore it on a new iPhone. We cannot see or access it. You can turn it off any time in Me › Backup. Progress photos are never uploaded.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. To check whether Trudge Pro is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives a random anonymous ID created by the app, your purchase history for Trudge and basic device information (such as OS version, country/storefront and app version). This is used only to provide and restore your purchases. It is not linked to your name or email and is not used for advertising.
Sharing
Postcards, season recaps and Witness invitations leave the app only when you tap Share and pick where they go.
What we don’t do
- No tracking, no advertising SDKs, no analytics on your habits.
- No selling or renting of any data.
- No account, email or sign-in required.
- This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts either.
Children
Trudge is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can delete all Trudge data by deleting the app. You can turn off reminders in the app or in iOS Settings. To ask about purchase data held by RevenueCat, contact us and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
